Malique Trent was a standout scorer for the 2013 class. At 6’2, Trent had a knack for filling it up in a variety of ways. He is an explosive shooting guard with a consistent three-point shooter and also aggressively attacks the basket. As a Norcom Greyhound, Malique picked up on the tradition of winning at an early age. He was a youngster when Norcom won its back-to-back state championships so he was able to learn from star players like Dorian Finney-Smith, who now plays for Florida. Once they graduated, it became Malique’s team. He had to put up instant numbers for them to maintain their powerhouse reputation…and he didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t long before the talk of the town was all about Malique Trent. He was scoring in bunches and had the athleticism and dunking ability to make the crowd love him. He absolutely dominated for two seasons and he lead his team to win the Eastern District Championship his senior year. He was named Eastern District Player of the Year, First-team All Eastern Region, and First-team All-Tidewater, averaging 19.9 points per game in the regular season and 22.5 points per game in the post season. Malique Trent has now committed to Norfolk State University where he will continue his basketball career.
